The Zamioculcas Zamiifolia, commonly known as the Zanzibar Gem or ZZ for short, are strong plants with thick stems and naturally glossy leaves that is drought and lowlight tolerant. History
Zamioculcas Zamiifolia has been present for a long period of time. They originated in drought-prone Africa where it thrives outdoors. It belongs to the Araceae famiily which is the same family plant of peace lillies. In 1996, Dutch nurseries started distributing it all over the world. From then on, ZZ plants have made it into homes and offices around the world.
Care Guide
This ZZ Plant for sale in Manila is very easy to take care of. They thrive best in medium to bright indirect sunlight, but can also tolerate low light conditions well. ZZs are known to be drought tolerant so they like their soil to dry out in between waterings. Recommended watering schedule is once a week or when needed. Sometimes it can even go as far as two or three weeks without watering if they’re placed in spaces with less light and heat. Make sure to let excess water drain out of its pot to prevent root rot.
Propagation
Propagating this indoor plant in Manila is very easy as well through stem cuttings. With a clean cutting tool, you can simply cut a stalk of ZZ at its bottom. You can choose between soil or water propagation. Choosing the latter will let you see its rooting process. Just make sure to change the water when needed. Meanwhile, with soil propagation, you’d need to find the good balance of soil moisture, air flow, and humidity. Rooting should take place in about 3 to 4 weeks. Leaf cuttings and division are also other propagation methods for this plant.
