History & Health Benefits

This herb for sale in Manila is native to the Mediterranean region. Ancient Egyptians would use Thyme as incense and add it to their bathwater. While the Romans would use the herb to flavor their cheese and alcohol. From 460 to 370 BCE, Hippocrates who is the father of Western medicine prescribed the herb for patients with respiratory problems.

Today thyme is also used for its essential oils, which contain thymol. Thus, it can be used in various skin products. In addition, this herb also has anti-bacterial properties which is why it’s used for meat preservation.

Care guide

This herb for sale in Manila needs at least 6 to 8 hours of full sun a day, meaning, they thrive best outdoors or near a window that has access to bright sunlight. Thymes likes their soil well-draining, sandy, and on the dry side. They like their soil completely dried out in between waterings, so once to twice a day watering should be enough. Make sure that the water completely drains at the bottom of the pot as well.
