Pothos originated from parts of Australia and Southeast Asia but many cultivars originated in the United States. Pothos Njoy came from its parent, the Marble Queen which is the same parent of Pearls and Jade plant which causes its similarities. It was Ashish Arvind Hansoti who discovered the Njoy variety in 2002 in Mumbai, India. The variety ‘Njoy’ is a result of breeding where the breeders wanted to reproduce Pothos with brighter variegation. Since then, it was produced true to type on successive generations.
Care Guide
This Njoy Pothos for sale in Mania thrives best in medium to bright indirect sunlight. It can tolerate low light conditions as well but expect slow growth and less variegation on its leaves. Njoys also like their soil well-draining. Recommended watering schedule is once a week or when its leaves start to become limp. Furthermore, make sure that excess water also flows out of the pot when watering to prevent root rot.
Propagation
Propagating this indoor plant requires stem cuttings. First, make sure to cut in between nodes to include them. Without a node, they won’t be able to develop roots. Although optional, you can dip the end of your cuttings in rooting hormone. Choose your medium for propagation – water or soil. If soil, make sure to use well-draining soil and care for them as you would with normal pothos. For water propagation, make sure to change the water every week or when needed. Place in bright indirect sunlight and wait for rooting to take place in about 3 to 4 weeks.
