History
The Money Tree, which is native to Mexico and northern South America, is also very popular in Taiwan and other East Asian countries. In the wild, it can grown up to 60 feet high but can also be managed as an indoor tree or as a bonsai tree. Legend says that a poor Taiwanese farmer found a small Pachira plant and decided to sell the mysterious plants growing in his field to escape poverty. He then became one of the wealthiest people in Taiwan. In the 1980’s, it was first popularized in Taiwan as a houseplant and is prominent to those who practice Feng Shui.
Care Guide

It likes to lean towards its source of light so make sure to rotate it every now and then to maintain its posture. This plant likes to dry out in between watering. Suggested watering schedule is once a week. Moreover, make sure to deep water it or let the excess water flow out of the drainage hole at the bottom of the pot.
Propagation
Propagating this indoor plant in Manila requires cuttings. Cut at least 6 cm stem with several leaf nodes already. Take out the leaves at the bottom, and although optional, you can dip the cut end in rooting hormone. Propagation can be done in either soil or water. Rooting should take place in about 6 to 8 weeks!
