This Green Tea comes from the Camellia Sinensis plant which is commonly known as Tea Plant. They are part of the family of evergreen shrubs or the flowering plant family Theacea. It has green glossy leaves with long thin stems.

History & Health Benefits

It was accidentally discovered in 2737 BCE when the Emperor was boiling water in his garden when a leaf from this herb suddenly fell into it. From there, the research on Tea Plants began and made its way to be used as Asian herbal medicine. Other caffeinated teas such as white, black, green, and oolong all come from this tea plant but have different methods of processing.

Its health benefits include enhancing immune systems due to its high level of antioxidants, which regards it as one of the most powerful antioxidant herbs. Care guide

Watering can be done once every day, or twice on a hot day. Allow the topsoil to slightly dry out in between waterings, as it’s not fond of soggy soil. Propagation

First off, choose a healthy stem from your Tea Plant to get your cutting from. When you’ve picked a stem, cut it in between nodes leaving you with one leaf with a node as equivalent to one cutting. Although optional, you can dip the bottom in rooting powder and tap off the excess. From there, you can pot your cutting in moist soil at an angle position. Make sure that it’s placed in a bright, humid area to encourage its growth. To increase humidity, misting can be done but be careful not to overwater them.
