History

Dapo belongs to the Polypodiaceae family and originated from South East Asia, East Australia, and Hawaii . In Malaysia, the Dapo is non-toxic and is eaten by aboriginal tribes. They also use it for medicinal purposes to ease labor pains, pounded in water and used as medication for fever and many more. While in the Philippines, specifically in the Bicol region, it is believed to bring in wealth when planted near an entrance. Plus, its light green color symbolizes money and positive energy.

Care Guide

This Dapo for sale in Manila thrives best under bright indirect sunlight. Make sure not to expose them under harsh direct sunlight as this can burn its leaves. This plant likes its soil consistently moist so watering can be done when the top inch of the soil has dried out already. Furthermore, water directly on the soil and not on the plant.

Propagation

Propagating this plant would require harvesting its spores. Spores are the lines of brown fuzzy spots on the underside of the leaves. Place them in sphagnum moss, or peat moss uncovered and bottom water them. Keep them moist by placing a plastic bag over it or by misting daily. Germination will start in about 2 to 3 weeks.
