Description
Citronella grass (Cymbopogon nardus or Cymbopogon winterianus) is popular for its insect repelling properties. It’s relatively easy to take care of and doesn’t need much attention. They’re highly adaptable to different weather conditions as well. Do not confuse with Lemongrass as they only look similar. But they do belong to the same family! This is also different from the Citronella Geranium with ruffled leaves.

Watering should be done once every day as well, or twice on a hot day. This herb likes moist soil. It’s a go signal to water them once the top 1 to 2 inches of the soil has dried out already.
Propagation
Dig up 2 to 3 inches of healthy roots. Make sure to cut straight where it’s connected to the plant parent. Afterward, pot the root cutting straight into lightweight soil. Make sure to place them in a bright area and keep the soil moist. You’ll know if your propagation is successful once it sprouts new growth!
