Description

Description

Boston Fern is known as one of the easiest and low maintenance indoor/outdoor plant to maintain. This plant for sale in Manila produces enough oxygen to purify the air in your bedroom or space.

History

This plant for sale in Manila was first discovered when it first mutated by a florist in Boston in 1895. Boston Fern is a native in Florida and was first introduced as wild specie at Kew in 1793 from Jamaica.

Care Guide

Boston Fern love bright indirect light. This plant needs to be evenly moist. Make sure to check the top soil is dry in between waterings just to make sure that the soil would not be too soggy to ruin the root system of the plant.

This Boston Fern plant for sale in Manila will droop when it’s thirsty. On the other hand, yellowing leaves can be a sign of overwatering which can lead to root rot. Lourdes don’t like their soil damp so deep watering once a week should be enough. It’s also good to know that it’s natural in a plant’s life cycle to have old leaves (that are usually at the bottom) die. This can mean that a new sprout might be on the way!

Propagation

Propagating Boston Fern can be done through stem cutting, or root division, and water propagation or soil propagation. With using small cuttings, choose a mature stem that’s several inches long. Identical small bumps might be seen in the stem and this is where new roots can grow so make sure to include them in your cutting. Afterwards, you can bury them in soil (optional: treat your soil with rooting hormone) and wait for rooting to take place. With root division, this can be done when repotting as Boston Fern plants produce new stems over time. All you have to do is split up these stems carefully by hand and plant them into separate pots. Care for your cuttings as you would with a normal Boston Fern plant, and roots should start to appear after 3 to 4 weeks.
